Michael Mann, State Power, and the Two Logics of Globalisation

It may seem premature to comment on work that is largely still in progress, but some of Michael Mann's writing on globalisation has already begun to make its mark. In this article, I comment on two of Mann's central insights which emphasise complementarities in the global-national relationship and indicate how these may advance the globalisation debate concerning industrialised states.
